. . .

who am I?

Name: Erin. The White Ninja (sometimes).

Who am I? Graphic design student with a penchant for exploring blogs. Some people might call it an addiction. They’re probably right.

Why here and now? In a noble (desperate?) attempt to share my links with my friends yet not dominate their crackbook walls entirely, I created this blog. And a facebook page (and a twitter profile. And svpply). Hopefully this way I can be OCD yet also friend-worthy at the same time.

Plus I have total psfk love and they employ bloggers. I’m just saying

What else? Music is good. What’s on repeat? Apart from everything? Noisy stuff, quiet stuff, poppy stuff, ugly stuff (which is actually quite beautiful really). The Cure, Fleetwood Mac, The Beatles, the kitsune noir mixcasts, The White Stripes, riot grrrl (all of it). The Pixies, The Kills, Kate Bush, Sonic Youth, The Libertines, anything new (as in, anything new or old that I haven’t heard of yet), The Breeders (oh Kim), Kathleen Hanna and Bikini Kill (yeeeeeaaah;) ), oldschool Hole, Dinosaur Jr, Pulp, Foster the People, some of M83, Gang of Four, Life Without Buildings, the Fall, Joy Division, New Order, Depeche Mode, Happy Mondays, MIA, old soul, beat poets (if I can find them on youtube), a bit o’ hiphop (oldskool only!), Madchester, 90s grunge, British indie rock, scuzzy garage punk rock. If I could mainline music to my heart my soul would be happy…

And arty stuff? Visual love comes in the form of Peter Saville (LEGEND), Rachel Whiteread, Tracey Emin, Damien Hirst, Frank Chimero, The Luxury of Protest, Gregory Crewdson, Robert Mapplethorpe, Georgia O’Keefe, Bill Henson, Jackson Pollock and any of the 1960s New York/American abstract expressionists, Mondrian, Joy Hester, the Heidelbergs (even though it’s terrible passé in the art world these days, I love them), Frank Lloyd Wright, Californian bungalows, brutalism, medieval castles (I have a degree in early modern and Tudor history. This absolves me of any outside judgement. I hope), art/gallery exhibitions, exhibition design (I’m the girl poking around at the back of the painting instead of the front), magazine and CD/album cover layouts (nerdy but so fun), internet, mag nation (in the real world), life.
