a man’s home is his castle

Same goes for bats and birds. And dogs (esp when it’s designed by Frank Lloyd Wright). I was feeling animally after seeing this awesome bat-house and then the roof-tile greatness both of which reminded me of an extremely cool Frank Lloyd Wright kennel which I saw in a book ages ago.

1. The Mus Bat-house by Estudio Estres (over at Design Milk)

2. Roof-tile birdhouses by Klaus Kluiken (via psfk). These were his graduation works. Legend.

And the best one.

3. The Frank Lloyd Wright-designed kennel for the mid 20th century, Robert and Gloria Berger house in San Anselmo, California. God I want this.

Even though it would make me feel like I’m in some sort of Navajo desert rehab complex. But I can imagine they’d be pretty comfortable.

The above-the-water one would take some mad balancing, levitating skills to get into though…

(Original designer is Dedon. dornob for original article. Possibly Springwise for original tip-off although inbox clear-out this morning has made me scatter-minded).

The worst thing about committing to pay off your credit card when the Australian dollar is at an all-time high against the US one is that you mysteriously start finding ALL sorts of amazing, really well priced, e-stores from America. The last time this happened I found Need Supply Co. and ended up buying a pair of $200 leggings which have above-the-knee panels of really soft, black leather sewn up the front of them. Goddamn they make me happy. Just not so much so in the payment commmitment plan! (but I’m so happy;) ). The time before? Plasticland and fred flare. Now both I and my friend Sarah Madness have various bits of homewares and shooooooooooes which we don’t need but are totally freaking beautiful/hilarious. This time? I just found this. The boutiques section of Refinery 29. I can’t deal with this amazingness…

(ps. This trail of goodness started from an original link to this amazing skirt from killahbeez, a new and pretty cool North American blog I just got onto).

(pps. Always check out the music sections of these blogs (killahbeez included). They always have great mixtapes for finding new music.)

(ps. If anyone can figure out how to actually purchase things from these guys, can you please tell me? I’m trying to buy the yours/mine pillows but it’s not letting me! I figured it out. The browser at work just wasn’t working properly! PayPal button clearly visible now)
